Aliso Viejo, Orange County
Aliso Viejo was part of the Moulton Ranch until the Mission Viejo Company bought 6,600 acres in 1976 and planned a community where people could both live and work. The first residents arrived in 1982, and the city incorporated in 2001. That same year Soka University of America opened its hilltop campus on the western edge of town.
